Well, I used to be RainCityGirl, and everyone knew it was because I am from Seattle which has a reputation for rain, even though there are other cities who have much more rainfall per year than Seattle. However, when the whole board changed, I had also changed computers and had a new email. When I tried to register on the new board, it wouldn't let me use RainCity Girl because it was registered under my old email. Hence I changed to RainyDayGirl because, I adapt to our weather no matter how much rain we get or don't get.

We live on the suburbs of Birmingham, home of the SEC Baseball tournament.  Beautiful city.

@sandraskatesThanks for asking about the cat we adopted.  Renegade went back to the shelter and was reunited with the lady who really wanted him.  Since then another cat was dropped off at our shop, and unbeknownest to us was pregnant.  What a lovable cat she was and gave birth to four kitties.  The mother "Raina" has come to live with us and the others were adopted out.  Here is a picture of her.  DH is in love with her and likewise Raina.  I guess she knows who the really 20160510_163042.jpgnice person is in our house LOL.

Great thread!  My name origin is not as delightful as I've read here.

At the time, I couldn't fathom anyone shopping online, especially  for clothes or jewelry.  I came up with the name to remind myself, this is only a test; don't get crazy while trying bizarre shopping on something called Q-V-C.

Famous last words.  I've been thinking of changing it.

.        I would like to change mine but haven't figured out how to do that. Help?

@Beansey

These are the steps:

1 -- In the shopping area of the website, go into "My Account."

2 -- Choose  "My Nickname" (it's under "Personal Information").

3 -- You'll see your current nickname and a box to enter a new one.

4 -- Enter another name you'd prefer to have.

5 -- Click "Continue."

6 -- If it accepts the change, then log out.  (You might get a message telling you the name has previously been used, so you'll need to try a different one.)

7 -- Then log back into the Community and the change will take effect.

(A nickname change won't take effect until you log out and then back in).

hth!

Re: What does your user name mean?

I've got a cool one that I discovered totally by accident. I wrote out my name (first & last names), started with the first letter and then took every other letter & discovered that it spelled out Jancade--how cool is that???

Re: What does your user name mean?

Being a scuba diver and experiencing encounters with mantarays seemed to be a good choice. Just for fun, I added the "e" at the end to signify female. Just whimsical on my part.
