My dad had a sister, Margaret.

 

 

Margaret is my Aunt.

 

 

Aunt Margaret had a son, Carl.

 

Carl is my first cousin.

 

 

Carl has a son, Mike.

 

Mike and I are first cousins, once removed.

 

 

 

I have a daughter, Pearl.

 

Pearl and Mike are second cousins.

I never say the once removed bit.  They're second cousins, etc. to me and everyone I know.

I'm the one that posted the Cousin Chart and I agree it's all very confusing, even with a darn chart!  It seems they're missing where the "kissing cousin" comes in.  And is there a "kissing cousin" once removed??  Woman Tongue
