I usually start figuring out my Christmas shopping since I do most of it online. This year we have less than 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

My husband and I usually go to the Oregon coast for four days, starting with Thanksgiving day drive (4 hours away from home). We started doing that because out of three kids, everybody had plans elsewhere leaving us alone for the holiday. Well, this year his 93 year old mother wants us to drive 5 housr east over Snoqualmie Pass to spend several days with her. She's in assisted living so we get a motel for the duration of the visit. It will be different but then again, how many people get to live to be 93??? We will probably eat Thanksgiving dinner at the nice assisted living facility and maybe take her out to the casino for a little slot play. This isn't my idea of a good holiday time but know it will be good for my husband and his mother

I wasn't done talking so this is the end of my story. We will head out probably on Tuesday and then drive back home on Friday. I used to do Black Friday shopping but don't have as many gifts to buy and I'm usually done shopping by Thanksgiving.
I hope everyone has a good holiday!!

I never venture out of the house the day after Thanksgiving. I always start my Christmas decorating that day. I have a turkey sandwich for lunch and many Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner. I love to listen to Christmas music and start getting into the holiday mood.
My husband and I had our first grandchild this past September so we are so looking forward to future Christmases with him!!!

I take Autumn/Thanksgiving down and put up Christmas.

The day after Thanksgiving I will be recovering from Thanksgiving.

Nothing! DH and I will have some football games on, but it's really just another day. I'm no longer into the shopping trips or the decorating for Christmas. We don't entertain so the simpler the better. DH has health issues, so the holidays are pretty low-key for us.

a couple years went with dh and my daughter and husband to outlet stores down at the beach or up in PA.. have not done anything like that in quite sometime.
thinking back i don't think we had that store opening at midnight and such when i was a grade school kid. I think the store may have opened up at 5=6a.m.. and went to 10pm at night which was late open hours.
