This suggestion was floated awhile back by someone in the media -- do you think it's a good idea?

The PD in America shouldn't have guns - just nightsticks.

Dumbest idea I have heard in a long time. Why don't we just send the police out with a target painted on their backs?

Why is that? Military equipment is good enough to use on the enemy but not American criminals? Why not?
