So you care about your image?
Absolutely and I am not fake.
Sorry I disagree. When one is overly concerned about their image they compromise in being true to themselves, therefore they are fake to a certain extent.
Well, since you don't know me or what I mean by my image I wish to portray you have no idea what you're talking about. No where I said I was OVERLY concerned.

Is there actually a person alive who doesn't care about his/her image one way or the other? Sure, there may be phonies, but even the phoniness is an image, AND portraying yourself as a person who doesn't care is also an image you're projecting. We all have an image to maintain whether it appears that way or not. So, I think the quotes above are neither all true, nor are they all false.

I care about my image and I'm not fake at all.
I've worked hard over the years and have raised a lot of money for charities and if someone said something that wasn't real or something to damage my reputation, I'd be upset. It's not just an "image", it's who I am.
I just finished working on two different fundraisers and they were both very successful, and I've got one more to do within the next few months and it takes months and months of preparation, I give it my all, and that's what I do.

As Ive gotten older I don't care what others think of me. I know who I am and so does my family and immediate friends. That's all that matters to me.

If you go back and read this: Fake people have an image to maintain
Real people just don't care
To me that second line is saying... People who are being just who they are.... do not strive to maintain an image. They are transparent so what you see is what you get! Not an image of someone but the real thing. If the word "reputation" had been used, I would see it differently.

In real life I've always cared about my image. As a teacher I wanted to project how knowledgeable I was in my subject area, also that I was professional and fair, as well as being caring and empathetic.
Here, I've never really thought about my image.

This sounds very judgmental to me. And in addition, I think that whoever originated those quotes sounds not only fake but condescending.
