Re: What do you think is the difference between HSN & QVC?

Just as with QVC, there are certain programs that I watch on HSN.  I just LOVE Curtis Stone and his products, as well as his programs! I love the craft days on HSN, especially the programs with Anna Griffin.  And a couple of others.  I also appreciate their shipping deall on craft days,

But beyond that, I probably watch more of QVC, mainly out of habit.

Definitely watch more HSN than QVC.  Purchase more items from HSN also. QVC minimal shopping at best. Have purchased nothing this year and only 2 items last year.

The hosts are so much better on HSN than here.  No obnoxiousness, no crass and crude behavior, the hosts are more prepared, they have fun and a sense of humor but not over the top.  The HSN hosts are more personable, makes for easier watching and buying. And a big one also is NO lame 50 and fabulous and Age of Possibilities marketing campaign!

HSN also has more coupons, free shipping, better sales, etc.  Happy to see QVC is beginning to follow HSN's lead in those areas.  I like the HSN vendors and their items also. Curtis Stone, DG2 jeans, G by Guiliana, Beekman  and more. More varied items.

So those are many of the reasons HSN has it over QVC, and the reasons I spend so much more watching time and purchase more there than here.

Re: What do you think is the difference between HSN & QVC?

I like and watch both channels. I have favorite hosts from Q and favorites from H, also favorite lines. I do think it has gotten very chaotic at Qvc with too many people running around on set shouting over each other. I don't mind hearing about someone's life a little but sometimes its too much when it takes over talking about the product. HSN does have better sales and offers coupons and deals alot more than QVC.

I always thought HSN comes across as second rate. The hosts seem like they could not get a better job so they landed there. If HSN and QVC were stores I would never go into HSN. I like the type of products QVC sells and the way they are presented.

I watch both and buy from both. but find HSN to be superior in many ways.

As others noted, the hosts are in general much more professional and focused on the job.

I get many, many more promotions from HSN.

I find HSN's kitchen and cookware lines, where I do most of my purchasing,  to be much better than what is offered on QVC.  HSN's Kitchen HQ line, for example, is much more useful and practical than the clumsy gadgets from Prepology.

Korres and Perlier vs Philosophy wins.  Much greater selection of Origami on HSN.

I haven't purchased any linen items on QVC that could compare to the quality of Concierge Collection.

If you're food oriented,  I give QVC first place in that category, as HSN doesn't really emphasize it.

I have always found the quality better at QVC than HSN.  This is just my opinion of course.

I much prefer the vendors, selections, and choices on QVC over HSN. However, I think HSN is set up much more efficiently than QVC in terms of exchanges. On HSN, you can exchange an item immeditley and they send the new item out N/C and you have plenty of time to return the other item. I don't like how you can't hold an item in your bag like you can on the Q. As far as the hosts, I like Amy, Marlo, and Debbie D. The Designers I like are Guliana, Marla Wynne, and some of Christian Siriano.

Re: What do you think is the difference between HSN & QVC?

I started out watching QVC 25+ years ago.  Rarely tuned into HSN.  In the past 5 years or so that has drastically changed.  IMO the quality of QVC has gone way down hill while HSN has gone way up.  I buy many more items from HSN than QVC in the past few years for many, many reasons.

I agree with everything in your post.

I would add that HSN doesn't do much of the duel hosting.  It makes for a more pleasant watching experience.

Also, no one seems to be reliving every vacation, stories of their children's lives, or exclaiming about how many and which color they have in every item they are selling.

Re: What do you think is the difference between HSN & QVC?

Much prefer the hosts on HSN. Pleasant presentations, not the screaming and carrying on like on QVC. HSN has some quality products like Marla Wynn   I was always a QVC customer for over 25 years but have switched over.
