I laugh when people say they buy bread, milk and eggs. I cannot remember the last time I purchased a loaf of bread and the only time we have eggs is when I need them for baking. We use a quart of milk every 10 days or so.

I always make sure we have batteries for the flameless candles and our portable digital tv.
I make sure that my cell phone is totally charged.
Food wise- just the regular stuff and, unlike lulu2, we eat bread and I make sure that we have plenty of bread and cheese so if things really got rough, we could eat grilled sandwiches a million times if we needed to. We always have plenty of canned soups and baked beans and other things.
I just make sure that I go to the store, get gas, etc., in advance. Our storm is supposed to hit tomorrow after dark into Tuesday and Wednesday. So I went to the store this morning. I filled my car with gas yesterday.
We brought in more firewood from outside into our garage after lunch today. So, we're good now.

batteries and candles
At one time in our county, it was expected the power would go out, winter or summer storms.

I may get to Trader's at the end of this week and if so, I'll get some of their K-cup coffee. We usually use Gevalia for coffee, no more Starbucks. I've never tried any of Trader's coffees so I wondered how those K-cups were.

Staples are no fun...I make sure to have a lot of cookies, guacamole, chips, etc. - fun stuff to make hibernating more enjoyable.
Of course I work it off by shoveling!

I don't need to stock up on anything before a storm hits. I keep our house well stocked at all times. We have enough food to last a good month. Our water is RO and we have a generator. All of our cars/truck are 4 wheel drive too. If a tornado hits, all bets are off. Snow or ice I don't worry about.

So true!! Like money in the bank
Up here we stay ""stocked up"". Only tourists run to the store when a storm is coming. The locals stay home.
