Re: What do you still do the old fashion way?

@mare54

Your question really had me thinking about what I have changed and haven't.

No social media except this site.

Still use cursive.  Someone had me decipher what I had written the other day.

Other than that I haven't used a stamp in years.  Haven't used a check in at least 7? years.

Use phone calendar with reminder notifications.

Use the several Alexa in the house for timers, check on weather, cooking conversion questions, time of day etc.

No land line for probably 10 years.  Use Google Maps on phone when going even short distances to check on traffic.

Estate sales now have pictures of their inventory usually a week or more in advance so planning is much easier.

I still like to go grocery shopping, my time to relax and peruse the shelves.

Cooking still happens here, quite a bit of it and that's relaxing too.

Our meals are made from scratch. Books read and collected the old fashion way.  Use ayurvedic/ancient herbs and healing methods.. Thank you notes hand written. Use a fountain pen requiring ink.

Just today I went to the bank and asked for a couple of check registers and they actually had to go look for them.  Guess no one uses those much anymore except for me!  LOL

Just remembered - carry an address book in my purse with everyone's name, phone numbers, addresses, etc.

@JudyL I still use check registers too.

Probably a LOT of stuff but:

I still use a 2-year calendar and post-it notes for my grocery list.

I prefer to use my laptop over a tablet or cell phone and will NOT do banking or shopping on my phone.

I don't have my CC information in my "wallet", in fact, I don't even know how to access  my "wallet".

Still use DirecTV and don't really know how to stream to my TV.

Drive a stick shift.

We do nothing old fashion.  We have an electric car.  Have had them since 2016.  That was the last time we were ever in a gas station. I have't used a pen or a pencil in over a year.  I don't send out letters.  We pay everything online. We do grocery shopping only online.  Have not been in a supermarket for over 3 years. I do shopping only online.  Once in a great while I go to a mall. But that is more for sight seeing then anything else. We still get letters (more for bills)  I guess the only we do old fashion is get paper bills, even though we pay online. I still cook.  I have never tried Door Dash or Grubhub.  So the only food we do outside our kitchen is a pizza.

Re: What do you still do the old fashion way?

I've lived in this condo for seven years and don't use the dishwasher. If clotheslines were allowed, I would use them. I have a landline and won't touch the cell phone. I also love calendars and a pocket calender in my desk. I mail out cards. I cut and color my hair and cut hubby's too. I still iron when need to or sew a button or hem pants. I am still frugal even though I don't need to be anymore. I still by day old pastries. Silly me.
