What do you look for in a wallet?

I carry only 2 credit cards but I also seem to carry around a lot of store discount cards and gift cards, plus library card, bus pass, DL, passport card, medicare & medical insurance cards so I need lots of card slots.I also hate when a wallet does not have a zipped place for change, so I look for that.My wallet must be pretty - I don't want to pull some thing plain or ugly out of my pretty purse when I go to pay for anything. Do you think we really need to worry about RFID?

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

RFID is a joke.  I have a greater chance of getting my credit card compromised from hackers online than from some dope with a machine standing next to me at the grocery store.  I really wouldn't worry about that.

I like a very thin wallet.  It has to be long enough so that my money is flat.  WHY?  I don't know.  I just don't like my money scrunched up.  LOL

I agree about a compartment for change.

I have a separate card slot thing just for store cards.

Since I change my purse a lot throughout the week/weekend, I tend to get multi color wallets that go with everything.

I do like a pretty wallet, but utility comes first. I need plenty of card slots, and the slots have to fit the cards easily. Also, I want 2 sections for bills separated by a zippered coin section.

I had some Dope scan my credit card standing behind me at a red box. Luckily I had fraud protection on my card.

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

I LOVE my Big Skinny Wallet.  It weighs nothing and it holds gobs of cards.  It has a zipper compartment for change.  It is big enough to tuck a checkbook pad (w. no cover) in one side and your bills can be in the other.  I "think" the bills can lay flat.  I'm not sure because I keep my bills in a zipper compartment in my bag.  It has two clear windows for IDs.  They aren't cheap for nylon and they don't look expensive like leather.  But they are perfect for me.

You can find them at the A. store.

I want a thin wallet because I carry crossbody bags.  I also don't want the weight of a regular wallet.

It must look good ,and be real leather. I like one that has a flap closure ,and a zippered area for change. I like lots of slots for the things I must carry. I also like a separate window for my driver's license

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

The wallet I am currently carrying is not RFID so I bought the cards from QVC that slip into the slot behind your cc and block transmission. They were a set of 4 so I kept 2 and gave my DH 2. Just for the peace of mind.

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

I'm using a ratty old wallet that I've had at least ten years. I need a new one, but I can't find one that I like as much.

I must have a "kiss clasp" change compartment, lots of card slots, a window for DL and enough space to place bills without folding them or scrunching them.

I'm glad you posted this today, because I've been meaning to check online for one and keep forgetting.

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

I have two friends who always request a new Walletbe wallet for their birthday every other year.   Lots of slots in a compact design.  I carry a black Coach wallet that my husband gave me for Valentine's Day many years ago.  A wallet tends to last me quite a while, I'm not a big brick-and-mortar shopper.

Re: What do you look for in a wallet?

@151949 I look for the same thing, as well as a slim wallet so that my money can be inserted flat. I am a little strange in that I always have to have my bills in order of denomination. I don't carry coins, I have a separate little pouch for that. RFID, not so much. I have my debit card and major credit card in the RFID card holders. It is a must to be a soft, supple leather. I recently purchased a Liebeskind Berlin from Nordstrom Rack (on sale) and loved it so much that I purchased my daughter the same brand, but different style, for her birthday.  I don't carry a checkbook anymore, so don't need a wallet with that section.
