I haven't cleaned behind my stove since it was installed.  There could be a family of gnomes living back there for all I know.

We have a double wall oven and a gas stovetop, so nothing to pull out for us.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

The last time I did it I found a spoon and a little dust but not too bad.

I can't pull mine out, it is a built in.

Besides dust, I usually find a piece of spaghetti, macaroni, or grain of rice. Sometimes I find a dried bean. What bugs me more, is what has been spilled and ran down the sides of the stove, or the cabinet beside it.

Re: What do you find when you pull your stove out to clean around it?

Had to chuckle a bit while reading the responses.  I have a built-in double oven and a cooktop so there's nothing to pull out, except drawers holding cookware below and cabinets holding cookware above.

But i know how those little bits of food show up in the strangest places.  Found two strands of stray spaghetti noodles hidden behind some other items on my countertop near the stove.... and the dried-up peas on the floor, that went on the lam a week ago or more,  are NOT visible to the naked eye until they decide on their own to turn themselves in.

When I clean behind or under almost anything I mostly find dust bunnies and missing dog and cat toys.

The eyes through which you see others may be the same as how they see you.

My range is a GE Americana from 1972 in glorious harvest gold.  Those started at countertop level with 4 burners, with an oven looming over the burners. Cabinets are underneath.

Thanksgiving dinner is a real adventure, because if the taters are boiling and I have to pull the turkey out to baste it, I get a third degree burn on my forearm from the potato steam.

I love that stove, and recently replaced all the burners and did a massive cleaning.  Detailed the job with q tips around the skinny little push buttons for the burner temps (instead of a normal dial). I suppose it will fail one day or other, but I just plain like its retro-ness.
