What percentage should be off the original price before you consider it a clearance item?  I was disappointed in QVC's clearance sale over the weekend.   Some of the prices were 20-30% off of the original price.  When I am shopping in a store, 20-30% is considered a sale.  A clearance item should be more than 50% off the original price.  Very disappointed in the Q's so called clearance.

This is not anything new as the Q has been operating this way for YEARS.  It's also one of the reasons I no longer shop the Q.

What gets me is when the Q has a sale or clearance and the percent-off price is stated to be from their regular price, not their featured price. So it's all misleading imo.

For me clearance is what I am willing to pay for it.

Clearance to me is 50%, 60%, 70% off.

A sale would be at least 20% off up to 40% off.

Agree with you all.   Clearance on this channel is a joke!!!!!  I'm very selective now aobut purchasing.

Re: What do you consider a clearance ?

I actually do not care what a company calls its prices -  featured, sale, special, clearance, etc. -  means almost nothing to me.  If I want or need an item being sold, what I am most interested in is whether I'm willing and able to pay what they're asking.

I'm not sure that was true in my past -  I own way too many items I bought probably BECAUSE they had some sort of special pricing.  Maybe I didn't really need them, maybe I didn't really like them?  I have no idea -  I just know especially when it comes to clothing, far too many pieces that end up going to donation were once on some company's sale racks.

I'm working hard now to buy more thoughtfully overall.  I seem to save more than by shopping willy-nilly as I suspect I used to.

In my case, I doubt it affects QVC at all -  I do buy some of their TSV's -  but almost nothing from their other sale prices no matter what name they give them.  Never have.

QVC's sale pricing is not only among the most inconsistent and fluctuating, but is generally among the most chintzy... Clearance, to me, means more than half off... I rarely see that here, especially on anything I'd actually want to own...

Re: What do you consider a clearance ?

The way I see a Q Clearance is it is not coming back and has nothing to do with price. They're clearing it out but are going to squeeze every penny out of it they can.

To B&M, they want to get rid of it one time and it will not return, so they make it between 30-70% off.

They Q is now bringing in transitional clothing. Clearance should be gone, if they gave a true clearance price. The Q wants it gone but at the best price possible. The Q acts like they have "special" stuff that one cannot find anywhere else in the world.

Re: What do you consider a clearance ?

What a clearance isn't - - I noticed a couple of QVC's idea of Clearance....................$5 off - S/H still $3.00

Now that's NOT OUR idea of a Clearance.
