Re: What do you Consider a "Token Gift?"

If the bride and groom showed some class they would mention that they are foregoing gifts entirely...if I decided to go, then I couldn't go empty handed...I'd probably give a gift certificate to a nice restaurant (not family oriented), or a bottle of champagne, which there are many price points to choose from, a nice engrave-able 5x7 picture frame with names and/or wedding date...there are lots of choices that aren't expensive at all...

A good bottle of wine.

I don't think the "token" bit is about money, I see it as "Been there, done that... already."

My immediate thought was a bottle of wine too, but my version of a good one would be more than a token lol.

Personalized  wine glasses with their first wedding date crossed out, and then their new wedding date.

Someone didn't like my underwear gift. Shame on you!

@AKgirl2, I still have one and carry it in my wallet.  When I take out change and a young cashier sees it in my hand, she inevitably asks, "What's that?" Talk about feeling old.

Good one!  As the whole situation stinks, or smells fishy as far as brides intentions and groom being oblivious to what he's about to step in or into again...

I'd say maybe $25, but that seems more cheap than token. But then again, if it were up to me, I'd give this ditz nothing.

Something symbolic like, "towels" . . . for when she's ready to throw the towel in again.  Smiley Wink

Uh, better make sure they're not monogrammed.  Better yet....have blanks monogrammed on the towels.

Re: What do you Consider a "Token Gift?"

i'd make a donation honoring the event to their house of worship, or a food bank.
