Re: What did you give up for Lent?

moonchilde if that is how you chose to live that is fine in my world. Everyone does what they think is best for themselves. For me I have always been happy that I was brought up in a home that our family went to mass and observed holidays. I had a couple friends whose parents did not go to church so the children did not go either. It used to hurt my mom and dad when these friends would say they would like to do what our family did. Back in those days you just couldn't say "well tomorrow you can come to mass with us'' heck their parents would probably got ticked off . But I still have these friends and when they got old enough they got themselves all dressed up in their Sunday best and they went to a church that their grandparents had some times attended and to this day they still go .

Re: What did you give up for Lent?

For Lent, I am reading a daily devotional on She Reads Truth website.

I was not raised observating Lent nor do I attend a church that observes. The readings are part of my daily, personal study during Lent this year.

Thank you for this website info. I love stuff like this!

12 years ago my family gave up Catholicism for lent. And we've stuck to it!

Since I didn't give up being Jewish, I gave up nothing for Lent.

I didn't give up anything. I started working on trying to improve some of my health issues, and have been working on trying to make sure I'm as kind and patient of a person, as I can be.

For Lent I've given up soda, all flavors and kinds.  Instead, I've been making homemade lemonade which is much healthier for me.  Smiley LOL
