What color to wear at a very important wedding?

My oldest niece is getting married in July. I'm her only aunt from her fathers side and I really want her to feel proud of me. I'm representing our family because we have no other brothers or sisters. I've chosen to wear black because I'm a plus size but besides that I truly believe that black is elegant for any special occasion. What do you think am I right?
