Sorry I am just seeing your question. Have been in and out here on this forum and have been helping a relative who has had medical issues.
I really like the wax melters. It gives me the illusion of a burning candle and the wonderful fragrance but no smoke, or soot. And if I get forgetful, it is safe to leave on.
They are electric and plug in. The tray warms and melts the wax cubes. When the wax loses its scent, the tray is removable. I let it cool and harden, then place it in the fridge for 10 minutes or so, and then it pops out in one piece. Then it is ready for another cube to be added. The wax cubes are readily available too. I get a lot of mine at Walmart. The Better Homes and Gardens brand are nicely scented.

@4kitties I would definitely need to find a high outlet...over the kitchen or bathroom counters to be sure Molly didn't get into it and have a lavender smelling nose. Lol
