What I like about Fromm is that they've formulated it so that a dog can switch flavors without an issue. Generally when you switch kibble a dog needs time to adjust to the change and it should be done gradually. Because the ingredients are similar from flavor to flavor, we can give him a little more variety and aren't stuck with the same flavor month after month.

I have four big dogs, and tend to switch fairly often depending on the price and availability on Amazon. I've been feeding Canidae for several months; I always pick one of the premium brands. Boy do my dogs have shiny coats.
There are several websites that rate dog food. Here is one of them

I feed "Wellness" Ocean formula, grain free. For treats I feed wellness bars. I buy my dog food and treats from Chewy.com. The price is outstanding and Shipping is free. Most of the time it arrives within 24 hours. They are a great company.

I use Iams for the 7 to 10 years of age. Iams worked very well for my rescued Cocker, Bailey and he lived to past 15 years of age. We lost him then due a growth/mass - he was just too old to handle surgery and not knowing what would result from it. Have had another rescue, Conrad, now for almost three years and for a bit over a year, he had the senior food which was one thru 6 years. Now for two years he is on the same as Bailey - he does very well. He is a more picky eater so I toss some Purina ONE Smart Blend True Instinct pieces for adult dogs in to egg him on. LOL. Iams products have different things in their various foods so am very content with this senior food.

Hi Charlie! I hope your little one is doing well. But I have to say - my doctor sent my husband home with a bag of that Hills (same as Science Diet, BTW) for our Ru for a digestion situation he was having.
Well, I looked at the ingredient list on the back of the bag and sent it right back. No way would I feed him that. It was almost nothing but by-products, glutens (wheat and corn), and soy. Not one ingredient in there that I would give him. Fortunately, the doc gave my husband his $30+ back (lot of $ for that small bag!).
The vets get kick-backs for selling this brand. That's the travesty, IMO. We really like our vet in every other way but I was disappointed when he wanted us to feed that garbage to Ru.

I agree with everything Chickenbutt said. I had exactly the same experience. My Lab hated the Hills Science diet. We transitioned her to Acana. I learned a lot about dog food in the process. Stay away from Hills Science Diet. There is a kickback to vets on this product here as well.
You need to find a food that has very few quality ingredients. The other thing I learned is that you should vary the protein source (chicken, beef, pork, etc) or your dog can build up a resistance to a protein over time and become ill when he/she continues to eat it. Our dog was overexposed to chicken. Now even chicken broth makes her sick. I didn't read all of the posts so hope this is not repetitive. HTH. It's very worrying when our pets can't keep their food down. Best of luck to you. LM

Thanks, I agree with variety! What a darling dog!

I used to get expensive kibble for my dog. The food was from Ontario and I had to smuggle it over the border.
Now he is on Rachael Ray's kibble and he LOVES it...plus it's highly digestible.
My vet told me to also give him some non-fat plain yogurt - a tablespoon or two every day. It has good bacteria for nervous little wire fox terrier's sensitive tummies!
