We recently switched to Nutri Source, a grain free dog food. We had been using Taste of the Wild (also grain free) for quite some time but our 10 month old cairn didn't want to eat his food so we thought it was best to try something else. He seems to like NS. It is available in a number of flavors.

No by-products, no wheat, wheat gluten, corn, corn gluten, soy, etc. So many foods, especially the grocery store foods and the Science Diet brand, are almost ALL those things.
It's amazing how much we know how, eh? I remember so many years of thinking that Purina was a good choice. I feel badly about that now.
Anyway, there are good choices out there now. Wellness is one and I hear all good stuff about Blue Buffalo also.
BTW, I stopped buying my Wellness at Petsmart (for $59.99 plus tax) and went to Amazon on auto-delivery and pay anywhere from $36 to just over $40 for the same 30# bag.
Chickenbutt! GMTA.
Amazon a/d for these huge bags of dog food is a fantastic idea. I'm going to look into that.
Almost as good as the 15% off for a/d is that it doesn't have to be carried from the car! My UPS guy always puts it in my entryway for me, on a moving blanket that I put out, and all I have to do is pull the moving blanket through the house (a million times easier than carrying it!).
Like a magic carpet ride?

While I don't currently have a dog, I've had dogs in the past and have friends who have show dogs. Anyway, plain pumpkin is good for them and good for a sensitive stomach. Also, Cocosoya (sp?) is good to add to the food of dogs who have dry skin. Avoid any food, chews, or treats from China.

I use a mixture mostly Blue Basics, Instinct Raw Boost dry kibble and EVO. All are grain free.

This was recommended when we brought our puppy home, he loves it. It's for all stages of a dogs life.

Hi Everyone again....I so thank you for all the suggestions you have given. Years ago, when my children were young, we had a Golden Retriever for 14 years. Well, my vet had me buy the Science Diet dog food because Jake was putting on some extra weight.
Well, my family had a back yard cookout and my guests were giving Jake, hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and even beer! So I let them know that Jake is on a special diet....they all told me that Jake comes to their back door and they give him cheese, dog treats, etc.
So my dog Jake was getting this and no wonder why he didn't like or love his Science Diet food! Back then Jake would wait with all the kids, guarding them until the school bus picked them up and then he came home. He always knew when the bus was bringing the kids back and went to meet them for his many hugs.
So then I gave him his favorite canned food called Lassie and his gravy train.
