Friendly Persuasion is a wonderful movie. Pat Boone singing the theme song was an added bonus.

@sallybusky Harold and Maude - love love love! Thanks for mentioning that one.
That's another movie that is great, if only for Cat Stevens' wonderful sound track.
That film also has one of my favorite scenes ever - when Maude throws Harold's engagement ring into the ocean when he gives it to her, and says " now I'll always know where it is."

"Thee I love.....more than the meadows so green and still.."
What I remember most about that film is Tony Perkins, before he got typecast as a psycho!

I also loved Giant - were there ever two more beautiful people than rock Hudson and Elizabeth taylor???
Also Portrait of Jennie - Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten - so romantic!!
And Laura as well as Leave Her to Heaven - my husband adored Gene Tierney and her "cute overbite!"
