I just saw one of my favorite movies again on TCM. It's called "I know where I'm going." It is one of the loveliest romances you'll ever see. It's a British film, made in the 1940s. I also love the comedies Young Frankenstein, Mrs. Doubtfire, and the Birdcage. For foreign films, I adore Amélie. I'm sure I left out a few but these are the movies that I can watch over and over again.

My favorite is not an "important" movie. My favorite is "Evil Under the Sun."
It's a campy version of an Agatha Christie novel, with Maggie Smith, Peter Ustinov (as Poirot), Diana Rigg (have always loved her), Roddie McDowell (who has some of the wittiest lines in the movie), James Mason, Jane Birkin (of Birkin bag fame - who now wishes her name removed due to environmental reasons) and a host of others.
It's filmed on Mallorca. The scenery is glorious, the music is Cole Porter, the people are witty, what more could you ask for a pleasant couple of hours? (I forgot to mention that the costumes are over-the-top outrageous fun!)
