The people of Cades Cove and the Cataloochee Valley voted to sell their land to the government.  If you were on the other side, yeah, you'd feel screwed over.  Read up on Bryson City, and "the road to nowhere."  2-3 years ago, you had reservation land taken for a "monument."  They were not pleased about the fed's seizure.  I haven't checked on it lately, but that decision may be reversed.

Denali and Glacier.  Try to stay at Denali for several days, not the quick trip you get when you cruise up there.  Glacier is beautiful, way north in Montana, and there is a sister park in Canada.  I also like White Sands, Carlsbad and Zion.

Glacier and everyone of the Parks in Utah. All stunning.

We’ve been to Yellowstone, Acadia and Grand Tetons. Would love to go back one day.

Bryce Canyon followed by Zions National Park - both in Utah. Bryce Canyon is so spectacularly beautiful and different.
