Re: What are you doing today?

I just got home from a trip to drop off at Goodwill.  Get supplies for the week-end at Costco and Met Market.  Need to put everything away now.

Work this morning.  Sitting on my buns now.  Pizza for dinner and then off to the couch to watch murders or comedy until bedtime. Smiley Happy

Hey @qualitygal ... hope you are having a great day.  Just checking in. Smiley Wink

@Preds, Hi Preds!!!  Good to see you.  Hope all's going well.  With pizza and t.v. it sounds like pretty darn good. LOL.  Thinking of you.

@dex I think I'm going to love it, too! Would've loved to retire early, but I couldn't afford the health insurance...have to wait for Medicare. I have things I want to get involved in when I retire, so I won't get too lazy. But they will be MY choice to get involved, which makes a big difference!

I have to say, I've never heard more people say, "there's not enough time in the day" than I have of retired people.  We're busy catching up on all those things we've wanted to do for years, so we're a pretty busy group.Woman Very Happy

@qualitygal.....I was pretty active after I retired.  Did a little bit of giving talks on wardrobe coordinating to different church women's organizations.  That was really fun.  Met some pretty interesting and pleasant women.  Got interested in wardrobe coordinating when I worked at Dillard's when I was between jobs...  Loved working with Ralph Lauren, Pendleton, and other clothing like this, plus casual ware.....  Knew everything that was on our floor and could take customers all around while helping them.  Many of those customers were ladies that were the age or older than I am today.  Always enjoyed that so much.

But those days are over for me.

Many of my retired friends have done a lot of volunteering....something they didn't have time to do before retiring.

Now, because of health conditions, I am pretty much spending my time at home.  Wish it was different.

Re: What are you doing today?

I'm staying inside today because it's pouring down raining.  Will be a lazy Sunday for sure.  But I do wish I would get my off my buns and do some badly needed housework.  I despise housework, too.  I really need to clean the bathroom (all of it) and do the kitchen floor.  Bought a new carpet cleaner and haven't even used that yet.  I tell you I'm just plain lazy!  I always say I'll get to it tomorrow.  Right!

Here too - and I just cleaned and did laundry Friday so I don't have that to do.  Just looking in the pantry to see if there's something I can throw together without having to go out in this mess or there's always defrosting something in the freezer!

Re: What are you doing today?a

So far today I have cleaned up my kitchen, made the bed, got dressed, gathered up the trash and put it outside my door.  My neighbor takes it out to the dumpster for me.  She is here today doing my laundry.  Just about finished with it.  The Cardinals/Tigers game is starting in about 10 minutes, and after that is over, will be putting my laundered clothes away.  Will be making a tuna casserole for my dinner.  Rather on the chilly side here today, so having the oven on for a while will make it more comfortable in here.  Still get cold very easily.....  Have been dealing with that for quite some time now.

Then tonight I will be watching HGTV....my usual Sunday night programs.

Now I'm thinking of what I will have for lunch.....

Going now to watch a football game, Patriots vs Texans. Just finished boxing up donations to be picked up this week. Yesterday was a really tough day for me, so today I'm trying to relax a bit.
