Re: What are you doing for your Mother on Mother's Day?

My mother is terminally ill. I had a heart shaped necklace made for her of one of our portraits we had taken this winter when she was doing better. Had one made for myself too.

I'm just glad she's here for one more Mother's Day, but it's very sad for me too.

My mother passed in 1993 and would be 100 this year in Sept.  But, I will be taking a wreath to her grave and talk to her.  I always do that to get out my frustrations.  She was a good mother who did all the work at home and outside the home.  She was a depression child but she didn't hoard.  My children will be coming over but I have no idea what's going on.  Happy Mother's Day to all who are mothers of fur babies.

I'll be away on Mother's Day so I'm taking a bouquet before Sunday. I use silk flowers that look pretty and hold up nicely in the sun and rain. My parents have side by side graves so I sit down on the grass and mostly talk to my mother. She endured many hardships as a child in wartime England. Due to my mother I am who I am and thankfully for the things I'm not.

Neither mom or MIL are here anymore.  Due to work schedules and such, it's next to impossible to get our family together all on the same day so I'm looking forward to a weekend of seeing who I can when they can.

This is my first Mother's Day without Mom.  She passed Thanksgiving week.  I'm going to the cemetery and to see Dad.

Everyone, reach out and hug your moms, tell her your love her.

I am taking my 88 year old Mom to her neighborhood Garden Center and buying her flowers for her pots, then going back to her house to plant them!

When I asked her if she would like to do that, she said she was hoping that was what she would get! She says at her age she doesn't want to do it herself and she has everything else she needs, she's thrilled!

What are you doing for your Mother?

@Jacie  She seems to have slowly bounced back from her falls & invited all of us to her “place” where they put out one heck of a buffet...even a red rose to all the women! They use the main, huge dining room & have omelet station, waffles, bacon, etc. as well as a long table of seafood and salad choices. Another table is set up w/ entrees.... usually prime rib and rack of lamb carved at the end. The adjacent small private dining room is set up as a dessert room (🤗). Mom’s not much of an eater anymore at 90, but loves to dress to the nines! I have her real jewelry in my safe, but she loves BLING. Since she moved there, we’ve all gifted her w/ jewelry from Chico, dept. stores, but her favorites are diamonique!!!
