Re: What are Some of Your Favorite Quotes?

I would use this quote in my class to elicit discussion about the Bill of Rights w/my 8th graders as we began to study the Constitution.

'Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.

Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.'- Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father

This is what my students were used to hearing as I made every attempt to have them become responsible for their choices and decisions:

'Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.'

Many of Nietzsche's quotes resound with me, but putting them in this thread would not be a good idea, and they would all be poofed anyway 👹

The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses. ..Malcolm X

To wear your heart on your sleeve isn't a very good plan; you should wear it inside, where it functions best.

I am not a cat man, but a dog man, and all felines can tell this at a glance - a sharp, vindictive glance.
