Re: What about David Letterman?

I miss David Letterman.  He was my favorite "late night guy".   Now my favorite is Seth Myers.

I believe his wife was a producer on his show but I could be wrong about that.

I don't understand the wives that stay with these men.

@Trinity11

They were consensual ....   BIG difference.

It's dubious that it was consensual when a subordinate had their job hanging by a string dependent upon whether their boss expected favors. It was an unhealthy work environment and since back then few spoke up, I think Mr. Letterman got away with his transgressions with a slap on the wrist.

I have to agree.  Letterman was unattractive not only physically but made even more unappealing by his ugly personality.  Maybe the women were silently given money to not dispute his claim that it was consensual. When a boss sleeps with a subordinate there's always a power differential.

@puttypiesmom, I don't see the relevance of his appearance or your perception of his personality.

@suzyQ3  Neither do I.   How good-looking or pretty or not so good-looking or unatrractive is perception;  and can easily make a difference to those with smaller minds when it comes to justice.

@puttypiesmom, good to know. Maybe the accuser(s) can use this line of attack if it ever goes to court.

Smiley LOL @suzyQ3 I don't know if those women thought he was ugly or not. The ol' I slept with him even though I was repulsed because he was my boss and in a position of power over me.....probably would not work.

Have you seen Roger Ailes or Harvey Weinstein? I mean, in what universe would ANY woman be attracted to that. Eww! Yet, apparently both men thought they were desireable and in their minds think it was all a two way street. I mean, none of them are anything to write home about. I actually liked Letterman on his show, but I don't find him in the least bit attractive. Nor do I find Matt Lauer attractive. Yet we are all supposed to believe that these women all wanted it. As I said before, I have yet to read of or hear about any of Letterman's women charging him in any way.   In some cases the individuals involved just consider it sex and nothing more.

Re: What about David Letterman?

I'll just reiterate that the issue of sexual harassment has zilch to do with someone's appearance.

We can all sit hear and make fun of what a person looks like, but that's all it is -- idle chatter.
