A person can look at the positive side or the negative side of things. That is your choice, no one elses. Changing the page of a calender is not going to change your world. So it will not matter if it is a new year or a new day, you choose how you want to live in it.

@cherry wrote:@ cakers I was told to rejoice, and look on the bright side. No one has any idea what my life .nor anyone elses has been like this past year, and people should respect others feelings, if they say they are sad, that is just how they feel
@cherry Cherry-I read your post about your friend in Among Friends and I know you are feeling down. Whoever told you to rejoice isn't being insensitive; the person may very well be a better friend to you in trying to help lift your spirits-even if only a tiny bit.
I understand personal pain; and I understand personal joy. For me they are conjoined.
I only have today and I am grateful my loved ones are here with me. Tomorrow has enough of its own troubles. I know you are aware of that passage.
So {{{cherry}}} roll with your feelings and I sincerely wish you lots of loving light and comfort. That's all I can do.

And here come the politics.
Wish all you want; if you want to change something, then do it. Get involved or spin your wheels in misery-your choice.

On behalf of myself and anyone else that wants to join me, 2016 can seriously kiss my rear end and yes I have a stronger word for it.
Bye, bye and good riddance!

You can count me in on your feelings. It has been a very rough year in so many ways. Looking forward to a better year in 2017. And trust in the one up above to watch over us......
I totally relate to this, @ShowMe. Although we don't personally know these celebrities who have died...they have been part of the background of our lives, and I feel a real sadness when they are called home. Add that to the personal hardships we deal with...and yes, I am one of those hoping for a better and brighter 2017. Hugs to all who are hurting, and R.I.P. to those no longer with us...famous or not, they were all loved by others, and will be missed.

I am so with you cherry. This was a very sad, hard year for me. Reading these forums I was not alone.

I'll try to be more optimistic, but I'm a person who lives life looking at how bad things could get and they got pretty bad in 2016. Like they say...when you're at the bottom there's only one way out.
