Did ya'll read the part in the Bible where God instructed how the ark of the covenant was to be made? Terrier3's post just made me think of that..... anyway. There was so much gold used in making it. Basically everything was covered in gold. It even had pure gold cherubs on it. I bet that thing was BEAUTIFUL! I wonder how much that would be worth?

Did the OP even want this as a religious symbol? Not all people view a cross as something religious. To some it's just a piece of jewelry.

terrier: I have to agree with you a bit except that the price is up to an individual for this cross. The cross (crucifix) that many of us wear are simple and indicative of our Christian faith. This cross is a fashion statement and I doubt will be looked at for religious implications.

It is beautiful but not something I would wear. Since a cross is indicative of other things besides religion, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a travesty, though.

Plus the ark was a parable....sorry - I meant an allegory.
