I was told you could get what you want ( gifts or cookies, candy)I don't want to be the only one not exchanging gifts. I also think a Secret Santa is a good idea. I will go to Bath & Bodywork's tomorrow after work to see if I can get something. I was thinking about a small sanitizer and a holder.

@Jordan2- that is a good idea.  I forgot about BBW.  They usually have a sale going on.

Re: What To Get

[ Edited ]

Ask if it's a name draw, I find it hard to believe you have to buy 16 gifts but if you do, Dollar Tree has $1.25 tall glass candles with a religious sticker that can be removed & you can replace them with  clings you can buy there too. Good Luck @Jordan2 & enjoy the gift exchange. Just want to add...  I saw on the DT website the same tall glass candle is available in colored wax without the religious sticker, the red or green wax would be nice with a Christmas ribbon 🎀.

Are you sure everyone is suppose to buy 16 gifts?

Makes more since for everyone to buy 1 gift so each ends up with 1? I really don't think they expect you to buy 16 gifts. That sounds crazy.

@rms1954 Of course! That's what other places do.

@Jordan2 just got an email from Bath and Body Works that tomorrow, in store only, you can get the pocket bac hand sanitizers for $1 each.  I think the basic holders there are around $2.

16 coworkers is a lot to buy for...good luck!

@elated there are 16 monitors, I don't want to cause any hard feelings. There are also teacher's aides, two teachers, and the office staff which I'm not giving anything. We also gave $5 each to the principal, secretary, and someone else ( I imagine they'll get a gift card or something).

@Jordan2

Where I used to work, everybody loved the scratch off lottery tickets.   $1.00 a piece and up.

It was so easy for me since I really didn't know them that well.

You need to start a Christmas Savings Account just to work in your school. Is this located in a wealthy area? Seriously, whoever has started this nonsense needs to stop. I could see if it were close friends and you wanted to give them a little something but this is ridiculous.

@Jordan2  even thought there are 16 monitors, might not mean that they expect everyone to buy 16 gifts. I could see Secret Santa but not having to buy a gift for every one. Who does that? They are co workers.

I was going to suggest this also good idea!  I would also double check to make sure I understood this exchange, could you have misunderstood?  I work with about 12 other people in my unit and there is no way they would do this, there would be a lot of grumbling.
