Politeness is fine and has it's place in life. But it can get super boring. Some people get offended at the tiniest of things and don't want to read any other points of view. I personally enjoy a good dose of dissention, sarcasm, and even a heated arguement. But here now it is often squelched by moderators responding to posters reports of inappropriate content. I read the " My mom always said if you can't say something nice ..." comment and just kinda roll my eyes. It is amazing to me how easy it is to offend. It is now a board where moderators rule. I have to respect that if I want to post here, but I do think it gets very bland at times. I don't come here as often or with as much enthusiasm because the topics and comments are less "zesty". I miss that. Plus, it seems any even slightly negative comments about any host, no matter how true, are shut down. But again, it is the new way here. The parameters are narrow.

There are still snarky posters. They ruin every thread.
Heya Brii: I'm hardly here anymore and I've learned to overlook a lot of the past with some posters - some, but not all. And yes, I could probably come up with the same ones you do but they weren't worth the time before and certainly are not worth the time today.
LOL
Nice to see you!

I think of this poem often when I read some of the more "snarky" comments.
There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good
She was very, very good
But when she was bad
She was horrid!

It is never too early to discuss flu shots, Christmas cards with glitter, and the usual holiday angst over gifts, parking spaces, and whether or not one should say "Merry Christmas".
Go for it.

Let's face it, political correctness is now the law of the land. Thou shall not offend anyone by anything you might say.
I'm shocked at what offends some people. On these boards, if someone discloses that they don't care for a particular line of clothing, etc. you'd think they just called someone's mother a bad name. We're entitled to have our own opinions and if they are stated in a clear, non hostile manner, we should be able to state them.

I'm dead serious.

@Cakers3 Politeness????? I've been around here a long time, and I guess I must have missed all the "polite" posts, there are still plenty of "snarky" (to put it mildly) posts here as always, just sayin'!![]()
