For clothes I am going to start washing them all in cold water. I have somehow shrunk one of my favorite Lucky brand blouses I just figured out yesterday. I usually dry them on low/medium heat. 

From now on I will probably be hanging more to dry or drying on extremely low heat.

I hang to dry most of my clothes.  I tumble for a few minutes to get the wrinkles out and then hang to dry.

Cold water for everything.

I shove everything in the washing machine,

throw in some liquid detergent,

permanently on cold wash/cold rinse. 

Never understood the reasoning behind certain temps

for certain items. 🤷‍♀️

I have always used the med setting... not cold not hot... Unless I am washing something delicate that requires cold water wash.

@Pecky yes & I use the delicate cycle for pretty much everything, except for bedding & towels.  For the dryer, I use the lowest heat setting for everything but bedding, which I use the middle setting, & towels, which I use the highest setting.

Cold water and I add clorox to my white clothes.

Cold water, rinse twice, hang or lay flat to dry for most everthing.  Only towels, sheets and jeans go into dryer.

Cold water for everything but hot for the sheets and towels.  I might rethink my rationale for using hot water for those loads.

@Pecky  ...except for my linens - hot/warm for them. Just washed them too. Gotta grab the cases & top out of the dryer right now in fact and finish making the bed.
