Music in general up until the nineties. I am a jazz and blues fan especially love Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Della Reese, Billie Holiday and so many others make me happy they made music! Of course love Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, , Beatles, Stones, Allman Brothers, Clapton, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, George Michael, Queen and the list goes on and on. All this music is uplifting.

Great question and it's my day off work, sitting in a quiet house on my favorite recliner, so I'm feeling chatty.
Music is all about memories to me and your question has brought back some great ones - songs and memories.
Always loved HERE COMES THE SUN, George Harrison -- because hey, in the end, 'it's alright.'
WHAT A DAY FOR A DAYDREAM - Turtles - I was a kid and wore a hole in my Turtles album
LIFT YOUR SPIRITS - Aloe Blacc
A fave song since high school - BRANDI (YOU'RE A FINE GIRL) - Looking Glass. It's not a happy, happy song -- but a cute, older guy in high school stopped me in the hallway and said I reminded him of that song - the line - 'your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea.' He said that because I have light blue/gray eyes. He was a pediatric dentist and I about fainted when I took my son to his first dental visit, and there he was. Common last name. Who knew?

Just about any rock 'n roll from the 50s and 60s will do it for me; however, I have a soft spot in my heart for Janis Joplin. Me and Bobby McGee or Mercedes Benz will stop me in my tracks every time.
As tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I'd be remiss if I failed to also mention Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant Massacree.

Heard "I Melt With You" by Modern English on tv last night. Brought back nice memories.
"Come On, Eileen"
"Fly" by Sugar Ray (the Reggae version)

Name a Christmas song and it makes me happy. But most real music that is upbeat got me through the toughest of times. Am kind of a musician and maybe that makes a difference.

Have to add: Here, There, and Everywhere and In My Life by the Beatles. I just saw the movie Yesterday so The Beatles are on my mind I guess
