Only have 2 major cc's. Neither are rewards.
You are trading all personal info and shopping habits for their points.

Credit card gives money back for what I spend. For rewards I look who gives free shipping or a percent off. That's my reward. I do have mr. rebates but I forget about them until I receive a notice.

My grocery store has no rewards program. HEB is ranked as the third-best grocery store in the nation, which is pretty good for a store that only operates in one state.
I shop at Amazon all the time and they don't have their own rewards program. I don't count credit cards - I don't want one for every store and would rather use one Visa rewards card. I also don't count Prime, which comes with perks, but you have to pay to access them.
LL Bean and Old Navy don't have rewards programs.
Target and Walmart have coupon-ish apps, but they don't have their own rewards program.
QVC and HSN don't have their own rewards programs. (HSN has the Arcade and points, but you get points for playing games, not for purchases.)
Some stores, like Amazon, QVC, HSN, Walmart, and Target work with companies like ebates, MyPoints, MrRebates, and others and offer points or cash back instead of having their own rewards program.

If it gets me free airfare to see my family, I'm fine with them knowing what kind of toilet paper I buy.

We buy almost all of our groceries from a Midwest store(kinda sure) that gives you "X amount of money off a gallon of gas", up to $40. We can get say, $.20 per gallon by buying certain products, which we will buy anyway, but maybe we buy a little bigger quantity to get the "gasoline rewards".
With our 23 gallon tank on our SUV? That $40 cuts a big dent in our fill up costs.
