I think of the end of first semester freshman year in college when I was at a dance with my new friends (especially my new bf!)...
I also think of my grandparents fussing over us to make sure we had everything we needed when we were at their house. ![]()
There are other "feel-good" memories, but that's the way I'm starting this thread -- will share more later.
What Memory (or memories) Do You Bring to Mind When You Want to Smile & Feel Good?
Here's to you having a good day!

Hot summer days riding bikes, or swinging on grapevines with my brothers. 4th of July celebrations at my grandparents house. Walking to the store with my best friends. Special moments with dear friends who have passed away. A sleepover I had with my Mom a couple of years ago on my birthday.

I have many memories.....and believe me, the older you get the more you cherish those memories......think I will keep mine to myself this go round.

My son adopted a Katrina orphan ... a yellow lab. When we arrived for a visit, I had to retrieve the house key from the backyard, under a flowerpot on the window sill (son was at work). "Oh, by the way, the dog is in the yard." Uh-oh ...
Since the dog was busy digging holes on the other side of the house, I slowly raised the pot, grabbed the key, got out of the yard without him noticing. Once inside, I opened the backdoor ... he came running (be still my heart), stood up on his hind legs and planted the biggest kiss smack dab on my lips!

When my husband, our kids, and I got to my Mom and Dad's house on Christmas eve., and they were dressed as Santa's elves. They were NOT the type to do something like this! It was the best Christmas of my life.

Last month my ex husband passed away suddenly he was only 47. While we have not been on speaking terms for a long while. He was my first love and the father to my DD. When I got the news and had to tell my DD I was flooded with memories of all the good times we had shared and was overcome with happiness as well as the sad realization we would never have closure. But it was nice to remember happy times and the images in my minds eye of him jumping around the delivery room with excitement of our childs birth. And other times that we had together before we parted.
All my other good memories were of childhood visits to my grandparents or happy holiday memories and then they seem to fast forward to memories shared with my DD throughout her life.

The first time each of my newborn children was placed in my arms. It was the most wonderful feeling of intense love.

The sight of my DGS coming down the stairs at the airport after serving his 1st tour of duty in Iraq., and getting a big bear hug from him.
