I am off of work this week, and my small back yard had grass up to my knees.
I rent, and the monthly rent does not include yard care, that's my responsibility to take care of.
I bought a push reel mower, but got frustrated with putting it together, (I am the least mechanical person on the face of the earth, I swear!), so I decided to use my weed whacker instead to tackle the tall grass.
It took me two hours, and four spools of line to do it, but I did it!
The grass has been cut!
So now I am relaxing with a nice tall glass of ice water.

@Anonymous032819 Good for you. I used to be (when I was young) a do it yourself kind of person. I mowed the lawn, I planted everything, I painted and stained everything inside and out at my house.
I'm like you, I could sit back with the satisfaction of knowing "I did that".
I enjoyed your post. You sound like someone I'd have liked to have spent time with. I like people who do the work themselves.
Now I'm old(er) and can no longer do most of those things. I have to pay someone and count on friends to do it.
Just remember, no one is going to do it or take care of anything as good as you will. It's yours and you will do your best.
Take care, relax and enjoy all you've done.

I just have to comment (again). I love that I got a few hearts as did the OP.
I love that there are women like myself and the OP who do as many things (or we remember when we could and did do) as many things as possible.
I'm a firm believer that women are amazing in everything. If you ever want to see me loose patience put me in with a female who says she can't (or won't) try something she should be able to do and refer to a male.....Ugh!

Weed Whacker works...........my husband and now my lawn service (per my instructions) are using a WW on one corner of my backyard. It's been so wet their equipment just sinks in. We just had 3 very dry days - but it poured today and again in AM. Best to cut long grass any way you can so wind and sun can do its part. Congratulations.
