Having come to peace about my own death some time ago, it's a subject I don't personally think much about but readily respond when people have asked me about this.

I agree, HiLo. I do not fear the moment of death. I do not look forward to the pain of death and would prefer to go in my sleep like most people would...... but the moment of my last breath will be the moment I wake up in Heaven. Like the song says, "Just stepping on shore and finding it Heaven, just touching a hand and knowing it's God, just breathing "fresh" air and knowing it's celestial, just waking up in Heaven and finding it Home". That is what I believe.

When my grandmother passed, I witnessed an interesting thing. In the days before, she was in and out of consciousness. She was looking up at the ceiling, waving and calling to people. I heard her mention her mother, and at one point she said, "see you soon." A lot of people might explain this as some kind of brain phenomenon. But I knew it to be real. So, while I can't say that I don't fear death, because it's an unknown to me, I can say that I feel I know what happens afterwards. I don't believe it's death. I believe our soul lives on. Jmo. Isn't that the greatest hope, Jubilant? I don't need any body else's death experience to convince me; it's all right there in Scripture and if it doesn't jive with God's Word, forget it. I love the song you mention: Have often thought of including it in my own funeral arrangements. Can't wait for the new heaven and new earth either.

Smile This is more common than realized by many, I think. Such a comfort to the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to witness the process we call "death."

I, too believe that our last breath here is immediately followed by our first breath in eternity.

I personally have seen a person in her last days here on earth witness something supernatural; she was also in and out of consciousness. It has been recorded that the last words of Moody were "look, there's............"(names of his deceased grandchildren). This seems to be a time when one is living in both worlds. I have read of many near death experiences in the old days but never one who came back to tell about the after life. I have also read testimonies of those who said they knew they would not be in heaven.
