What Foods are Going to be on your Passover Table?

I'm going to be preparing the Passover Seder this year, and am now going over my menu. I was going to attempt to make my mother's gefilte fish, but there's no way it will ever come out as good as hers, so I'm not going to try.

I'm going to make chopped liver, stuffed cabbage (the unstuffed variety), brisket, roasted chicken, and assorted side dishes which will all be made with matzoh.

Here is a dessert I'd like to try. It can be made any time of the year, switching the potato starch for flour.

What's on your menu?

Good Pesach, sunny Smile

Your Seder meal sounds wonderful. A couple of days ago, I posted a selection of Passover deserts here if you're looking for other ideas, also.

Re: What Foods are Going to be on your Passover Table?

In addition to the egg, potato, parsley charoses and matzo, I am making gefilte fish with homemade horseradish, matzoball chicken soup. For the main course we will have brisket, turkey, potato kugel, string beans with almonds, and tsimmes. For dessert there will be fruit, macaroons and some sort of cake. I just koshered my oven and scrubbed the kitchen to make it ready. Now the preparation and cooking begins!

I just watched Home and Family on Hallmark channel and they had a chef/cookbook author Paula Shoyer make a gelfite fish loaf with the salmon inside. Looked extremely easy to make, very pretty and everyone raved about the taste (said it was sweet).

You should look for the recipe, I bet it would be a hit!

My sympathy for your loss, oxox.

How about your past family favorites for your Seder? Perhaps scaled down if it's too much for you at this point in time.

Oxox........I know how you feel. My mom passed last July and this is the first Pesach without her. Maybe that's why I need to do all this work. My deepest sympathies on your loss.

My Mom was the one who really enjoyed the holiday, and all the foods, my Dad could not care less. I am not sure he would even eat matzo. I will play is by ear

thank you all
