Re: What Does Aging GRACEFULLY Mean To You?

Waking up each morning is a Aging Gracefully day.

Or I should say 'Aging Gratefully'.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: What Does Aging GRACEFULLY Mean To You?

Those words mean Nothing to me. I'm older than even I  can believe but I never felt like I was aging. Graceful? I'm kind of a klutz these days.  I'm definitely Wiser than anyone around me and I offer my wisdom at every opportunity - maybe that's annoying and not very graceful. I think the phrase is a marketing term.

Re: What Does Aging GRACEFULLY Mean To You?

To a degree, but unfortunately I think you have to try a little harder. No need to dress elegantly, even if doing my usual Target runs, taking the dog out to the preserve or a dog park, or even a doctor visit, I always dress nice, fitted tee shirts and pants ( to show off my figure), no holes or stains. Of course my manners are on point. Classy a bit elegant, and no my clothes aren’t designer. I know what colors and clothes flatter me. I feel bad for the spouses who look like they rolled out of bed and got dressed in the dark. Don’t even get me started on girls/women who clearly don’t have the body to rock a midriff and look like their pants are two sizes small and their stomach spills over the top of their pants. Not attractive.

I would take the redhead any day of the week. She looks like fun and has lived a life.

Very interesting thread ..

I had to think about this one, but here goes.

In my case I don't think that aging gracefully is necessarily about looks ... or even health.   To a large extent they are beyond my control.

To mean it is more about attitude ... being empathetic and respectful.  Being willing to accept help when necessary and be thankful and gracious.

I think the Serenity Prayer captures my idea of aging gracefully:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference

Aging gracefully...

-Eating nutritionally

-Exercising regularly (helps fluid retention, tones muscles, keeps skeleton strong, helps balance and vision, circulation

-Skin care every day

-Dress elegantly casual available at any price

-Keep current with topics for conversations

The one thing I really dislike about aging issues on my face is dimpling! I will even try Botox when my skin care stops working to control these issues!

Isomers Acetyl hexapeptide actually DOES unwrinkle. It's very effective and here is one secret as to why... if I keep after the creasing areas (ie: above lips and between brows) by applying this product several times per day, the creasing stops for a short period of time! (Next day)🤩

@LTT1 Welcome!🥰 I can cetainly understand the "dimpling" between the brows issue as that is something I am now facing; especially after reading.😁

Glad you are feeling better and back.

You know I am in my last year of 80's and so far, so good.  I thank God everymorning and throughout the day for all my good blessings.  S o far able to  do everything myself around the house and yard and continue my exercising everyday.  I think that is one of the reasons for living so long.

I find the blessing in each day.  I also keep the mind active with exercing it and keeping it active with reading, and interacting with people of all ages.

I take good care of my mind and body.

I dress nice everyday, even if I am not going out that day.  I keep up with my beauty routine.

I try not to mingle wlith real negative people.  People that just want to talk about all their problems.  Yet, i do give them advice if I can help with the problem.  It's hard to be old in body, but not in mind. I also take classes that help to mingle with people and learn something new.

Some are not as forunate as I am with their health, but still have value with their mind.

@qvcaddition Welcome!🥰 How wonderful it is to have such a healthy perspective! I think it is awesome that you are embracing your age; not allowing it to define you, and doing EVERYTHING you can to appreciate it!❤️

You are a true INSPIRATION!😊

THANK you SO much for caring to share!🤗
