@Kachina624 ,  in my opinion, Elizabeth Taylor was exceptionally beautiful, as a child and adult.   I think I like her best when she's looking slightly un-done, and not necessarily in "full-on" makeup.  Ravishing.

I agree, it was a shame that Harry Cohn actually had Rita have her hairline altered through electrolysis, so that her forehead would be higher.  Dying her hair red was another attempt to make her look less "Mediterranean",  as he put it.   Silly, and demeaning.

Rita's father, Eduardo Cansino, was from Spain, of at least partial Roma (Gypsy) descent, and her mother,  Volga Hayworth, was an American of English and Irish descent.  The young Rita had a fresh, unspoiled beauty all her own:

It's all subjective.  I think my very favorite, might be Ava Gardner.  I like her slightly untamed look, and her distinctive cleft chin--

But it's hard to narrow them down.  My other favorite Hollywood "lookers" are:

She is right up there with Rita Hayworth, Grace Kelly, and Catherine Deneuve in my opinion.

Rita Hayworth was a Latina beauty. Hollywood took away her ethnic look and 'made' her into 'Rita Hayworth'.

actually @SilleeMee  she is spanish OR hispanic rather than being a latina. she was a spanish/romani/irish/english american.

Several sources stated less than 1 % of the world's population have violet eyes.  A couple of sources said her natural color was dark blue and they looked violet with certain colors of clothing and makeup.

@kze.  Seems like to actually have violet eyes, there would've had to be some red in the mix with blue.  People, unlike rabbits simply don't have red or pink eyes.  I also think they were a shade of blue.

Much of her beauty I think lies in her perfect facial proportions.  Everything about her face is perfect.

My Father worked with her brother, who had inherited her violet eyes.  My Father told us that he had extremely unusual eye coloring....  her brother's eyes were indeed violet.  I've often wondered about the photos of Liz's eyes where they just didn't seem the color everyone said they were..... but... who knows, maybe in person they were?

@Q4u  That's interesting, what was your Father's career?

She is one of those women who are mesmerizing  you can't take your eyes off her.  She was always a beauty. But boy she was one real person. She told it like it was, and I think always a person who drew people in. She was beautiful , bright, talented...although not the best actress at all. She just took the breath out of every scene being there.  Most of all she was kind, loving and extremely generous and a devoted friend to her friends.

Bet that make up person worked for hours.

Without a doubt.  And the team of stylists, photographers and the lighting crew.

A team of stylists, photographers and a million other people couldn't make me, you or anyone else look like that. She was stunning.

Re: What Do You Think?

[ Edited ]

I think that she was a beautiful woman but she wasn't the most beautiful. I still think that Grace Kelly and Vivien Leigh were the most beautiful in Hollywood.

Well, she had nice features.  Without the makeup, still nice.

I've seen many beautiful women, in my eyes, like Candace Bergen.

Not looking at models...they aren't among the most beautiful to me.

There's a number of newswomen today, that are so beautiful.  Catherine, soon to be queen, who I see as beautiful.
