Re: What Do You Think of Belk?

The Belk's here is a nice, clean and organized 2 story building.    I've shopped there and online with no issues.

Husband likes the Ralph Lauren section and has gotten quite a few end of season markdowns over the years.

Re: What Do You Think of Belk?

I like to shop at the Belk in Knoxville, TN (Turkey Creek) and Charlotte, NC (SouthPark) when I'm in those cities.  Great bargains can be found in the smaller Belk stores in smaller towns, so I like to stop when we're traveling.  I also like shopping on their website.  They sell a lot of things you can get on QVC at a much lower price.  If you like EFFY jewelry on QVC, check to see if they have it at Belk.  QVC had a sapphire TSV a few months back that was a few hundred dollars cheaper at Belk.  I also like some of the Crown & Ivy pieces, and I buy Ralph Lauren there.  They do a lot of online coupons and free delivery or in-store pick up.

I avoid the stores in Asheville, NC.  It's just not easy to travel through there due to the construction, and the service isn't as friendly.  We went to Biltmore a few years ago and went to the nearby Talbots.  The customer service rep was terribly pushy as the woman kept offering to "style" customers with such a snobby and condescending tone.  To me, customer service is key regardless of the price or inventory.   Belk is usually pretty good in most areas I've visited (besides Asheville).

I love Belk. We have a brick & mortar store here. I've never really ordered from them online.

@rockygems123    Belk has always been the department store closest to my home.  I LOVE ❤️ it!  They always have nice items both in store and available for order. Great fashion at great prices.   They feature a lot of QVC and HSN skincare I can pick up whenever I'm in a pinch like Perlier and Philosophy.

My experience has always been fantastic for years and years!

Oh wow, so it's a regular brick & mortar department store?  How nice that you've had great experiences there.

I'll have to look and see where they're located.  I don't travel as much as I used to but still get out once in a while Smiley Happy

I've never seen a brick & mortar Belks, didn't know they had them.

They have a good online presence with pretty good competitive pricing and availability, quite the selection.

Re: What Do You Think of Belk?

We have 2 here.  They used to be Parisian which I much preferred the inventory although I could only buy on sale items there.  But, I really liked shopping there even if I couldn't often buy.  One Belk boufht them out, they became much more affordable, but over the years the stock became stale.  I have one shirt I bought there several years ago that I could probably walk into the store today and find only in a different print.

I've really been disappointed in them since Covid.  Like many stores, they closed the dressing rooms during Covid which means I didn't shop there.  After Covid, they did open up a few dressing rooms, but it's almost impossible t find someone to check you out.  They have lots of clothes stuffed onto racks so tight you can't really see anything, and I just don't find it fun to shop there.  I haven't been able to find a decent pair of dress pants there or anywhere else in years.  The Kim Rogers dress pants I used to buy there are now only sold in a pull-on style which I don't like.

I have better luck finding shoes there than I do clothing. Makes me sad, since it used to be the place I shopped most.  Now, I don't really have a decent place to shop.

Re: What Do You Think of Belk?

I use to shop in Belk all the time.  Friends visiting from the North loved going to Belk's.  Several stores have closed near me and the closest is over 30 miles away and not easy to park at the mall.  I have not bought from Belk in over a year.  I use to get great sales both in store and online, but no more.

Some areas in NC still have nice stores as most of my granddaughters clothes are from Belk, the other grandmother buys near her house.  They are all name brand and lovely.

Re: What Do You Think of Belk?

@rockygems123    Oh yes, there an actual store.  Where I live our store is only medium sized.  However, in Brentwood Tennessee, in the suburbs of Nashville, they have a huge store.  They also have a huge outlet store.😃
