What Do You Think of Belk?

I've only ordered 2 things from Belk, once at least a year ago and shoes today. So far happy with the service, they seem to have product available when it's hard to find elsewhere and prices are competitive.

What has been your experience?

@rockygems123 Belk has always been the department store closest to my home. I LOVE ❤️ it! They always have nice items both in store and available for order. Great fashion at great prices. They feature a lot of QVC and HSN skincare I can pick up whenever I'm in a pinch like Perlier and Philosophy.

My experience has always been fantastic for years and years!

I was going to buy a scarf there. The s&h was more than the cost of the scarf. Never went back.

Mom used to shop in the store when we lived in Tennessee. I was fascinated by their pneumatic tubes that took credit cards off for approval, then returned them.

Our local Belk is terrible since Covid. Their pricing in store is crazy. Buy 1 get 2, unfortunately you can only find one item in your size Also, always coupons but you never know what they are good for. I have had better luck shopping them on line and then picking up in the store since you can't find their inventory. At least you know if they have it and what it will cost.

I won't drive to the mall to shop in person at Belk, but certainly order quite a bit online. I've never had a problem with anything, no returns.

If you are a standard size, I think Belk is wonderful. I'm plus sized with wide feet.......the shirts are never long enough and any wide shoes need to be purchased online. Our store is terrible........worn stained carpeting, not enough checkouts or dressing rooms open.

They have a few (VERY few) good things.

I left there when the Belk brothers sold to a company buster that wants to be online.

If you are looking at a "designer" piece, google it and see if it's at other stores; more than likely it's a Belk home brand that loses its color after a year.

Lancome makeup pulled their line out within a year.

Biltmore House pulled their top tier of bath towels.

The back side of the fashion floor is marked down clearance that is hanger fatigued.

We had one for a while when I was growing up but it didn't last long. It is a retailer I never think about or look at online.

How large a city are you in please? Knowing Belk on a first hand basis, I feel sure your experience is tied to your location size.

QVC and HSN skin care isn't ending up in the Appalachian mountains of NC.

We are around 94,000.

My favorite bermuda shorts that I wear all the time in spring/summer are from Belk. They are the Kim Rogers Millennium bermudas, I have them in every color you can imagine and duplicates in white, they fit me like a dream. I wait for coupons and Top Cashback usually has nice cash back. I also buy DH Jockey stuff when on sale. I only order online, we have a Belks at a local mall that I don't visit because it's huge and I don't want to fight the traffic. Back during Covid, I ordered online and picked up there curbside, so that was nice. Way back when I had just graduated from high school, I worked at Belks. I only lasted a few months, until I found a secretarial job.
