I can only hope that people are ordered to send the checks back that are made out to someone who is deceased.

Sorry, it's not that easy. No, you are NOT simply allowed to "keep it."

Just because the government relied on either a [presumably still-living person's] 2019 OR 2018 tax filing, doesn't mean that a deceased person was entitled to a stimulus check. There's NO reason for a deceased person to have gotten a check or, by extension, that deceased person's heir to suddenly be entitled to TWO. If there's been an error (what this IS), the OP is not entitled to "UNJUST ENRICHMENT."

But at least this confirms the folly of mail-in voting.

I think they should just be told to destroy them.  Why waste time (and money) with the return process. As long as these checks aren't cashed, it's as if they were never sent out
