Re: What Color Is Your Kitchen?

Blue and white. The walls and ceiling are all white, the floor is a blue and white Dutch tile look.

I use touches of red that look 1940s. The curtains are white with a couple of embroidered red cherries and a little red crochet lace at the bottom.

My kitchen a U-shape, open to the dining room with just a peninsula separating them. I've light hickory cabinets with rubbed bronze hardware, with a light blue/cream corrian counter top. The backsplash is punched tin tiles.

Re: What Color Is Your Kitchen?

I used to have what I called my orange kitchen! The countertops were orange formica, but also full of cigarette burns.

I replaced that with warm-toned woods, tan/cream/black granite countertops, a mix of stainless+black appliances, and accents of blue/green/gold...French country look.

Muted gold striped wall paper

Black appliances

Oak floors

Black counter tops

Bay widow and glass sliders

Wrought iron and glass table with wrought iron and fabic chairs

Wrought iron chandelier and recessed lighting

Red pots/pans/cooking utensils

Three Royal Palace rugs

Mediterranean feel

I was trying for a Caribbean feel, no kidding.

I have to clarify, my small appliances, pots and bake ware are orange not the walls. The walls are vanilla with the same color tile. Of course I have orange slice rugs along with the kitchen towels and pot holders.

That sounds nice! At first, I did envision my old countertops.{#emotions_dlg.sad} (and if one wants them, they are still available)

In your bathroom?

I re-did my master bath about 5 years ago and wanted it to have a beachy feel. Deep soaker tub, all fixtures white. White bead-board halfway up the wall with carved ledge trim that I painted an ocean blue. The upper walls and ceiling are painted a pale sky blue and I sponge painted creamy white on the ceiling to give a cloud feeling to it. The floor is a sandstone colored tile.

Jane, mine has one tangerine wall and the other is a vanilla color. The cabinets are almost an ebony color, soap stone counter tops, stainless appliances and the pantry door is black chalkboard paint. Bamboo shades and hardwood floor.

You have Royal Palace rugs in your kitchen?

We obviously have very different families, LOL! The kitten alone would destroy them. This morning she very carefully took all of her dry food out of her bowl and stacked it in a pyramid in the middle of the kitchen floor for DH to see.

I have always wanted a tin ceiling in my kitchen. Love it.
