Re: What Are You Reading --- March 2014

Just finished the Johnny Carson book by his former attorney. It wasn't very good and the attorney-Henry Bushkin- claimed he was responsible for guiding Carson to learning how to invest his money. I do not doubt Carson was very moody but I do not think he was that dumb.

PTB on Meg Waite Clayton's The Wednesday Daughters. It was just too boring to get past page 40. Read the first one (The Wednesday Sisters yrs ago and can't remember much).

Onto J. Courtney Sullivan's The Engagements.

I am just about done with Whistling Past the Graveyard. I loved this book and don't want it to end. I will miss the two main characters. You can't help but love them. Still not quite sure how it will end yet. Thanks to whoever recommended it. I just love the reviews on this board. This book is one of my favorites so far this year.

my favorite book of 2013 - thanks to whomever recommended it also

I've finished The Book Thief - it was good but sad and I also agreed with a poster that said it ended abruptly. Needed something light so I read The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner. Pretty predictable but I needed that.

I am so glad to hear it! WHISTLING AST THE GRAVEYARD was one I really enjoyed, too! I also liked THE BOOK THIEF!

I just finished THE WEIGHT OF BLOOD by LAURA MCHUGH. This is her debut novel and it just came out. A mystery, set in a small town in the Ozarks. A great read - great first book.

Finished "The Accident" by Linwood Barclay {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}. It is a story of a man whose wife is killed in an accident, and the mysteries that follow for him.

Re: What Are You Reading --- March 2014

I saw this book as I was leaving the library a few days ago. I had never heard of it before, but I liked the cover and the title sounded interesting, The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick. I read the inside cover, and it sounded good. Am I glad I did! OMG, it is terrific! It's about 38 year old Bartholomew Neil who has spent his whole life taking care of his mother. Then she dies, and he has to learn how to live on his own. It's heartbreaking and sad but also full of hope, and a great plot. Everything I like in a book. 5+ stars.
