@KKJ   check out message # 6.  I felt like I had to apologize to the OP

That's COLD.......

Thank you. 😺

Some people just have a negative aura about them, and when they try to fling some of that negative energy my way, I just figure that their negative attitude is their problem.

I actually feel sorry for them, because in their minds, they think that they are above me, better than me, but in all honesty, I just find them to be sad, and that their words are a reflection of them, and  not me, so anything that they say is just the noise that Charlie Brown's teacher makes. "Wah, wah, wah."

i'm so glad to hear your water is back! that's happened to me in the past, and i swear, a dry faucet when turned on makes my blood run cold! that's because i'm oc (always have been) and always washing my hands. i'd rather have no electricity than no water.

In my co-op it's not uncommon for the water to be shut for quite a few hours during the day.  The system has to be cleaned or pipes need to be replaced on occasion.  The water can also be shut if ConEd is working in the street.  For anticipated extended periods of time that water might be out such as a hurricane we fill the tub with water which serves the flushing purpose.

Re: Well THIS Happened

@Anonymous032819   This does stink. Why were those worker bees working in the middle of the night anyway????

It seems more and more these types of 'WHOOPS" happens by workers of the like.

Be glad it afftected only the water lines - major inconvenience.

Be glad it wasn't a gas line. We've all seen the potential results of these "WHOOPS".

These kinds of errors are major problems most times.

@PINKdogWOOD

The main water pipes are old, and they can break with no warning.

The street was flooded with water from the broken pipe.

The pipe broke at 10pm.

What?

Were they supposed to just let all of that water go, and the street to continue to be flooded just because it happened outside of "normal working" hours?

This was an emergency.

Of course they are going to fix and replace the section of pipe that broke.

That"s their job, no matter what time of the day or night that it happens.

Whether it happens at 2 pm or 2am, if a main water pipe, that supplies water to homes breaks, and streets are being flooded with water, they will be out to fix it.

Here's hoping they get this problem fixed soon @Anonymous032819

And whether they mention this or not, you very well may want to boil your wawter for 24hrs or so to be on the safer side of this mishap.

Yes I get old pipes breaking, bursting. Our infrastructure everywhere is so so old.
