@RedTop wrote:What may have been urban legend has come to life here in WV. The situation my daughter told me about is a high school student in the county where she works.
There is also a WV female college student on the campus with my best friends niece who identifies as a cat. This girl has made changes to her face to look like a cat, and has glued fur to her arms and legs. Per the niece, there is a litter box in multiple female bathrooms on that college campus.
I would not be surprised about the identity thing. It's as old as the hills, but you did it in private. Now everything's public. I do not believe for a second ANYBODY is c&apping in any litter box on any school campus where other students have access to bathrooms. Just absurd, unsanitary and so not true. But we can agree to disagree.

Since the lockdowns it seems people have gotten SO lazy about getting dressed. Good grief, at least get dressed to go to the store!

I once brought this up a few years ago that bf and I were staying at a hotel and people were coming down to the breakfast that way~cultural downgrade imho. And I was jumped all over for being "snobby" lol. Whatever.
We were at a very elegant Thanksgiving Inn and a guy came in (or downstairs to get his meal to bring back up, not sure but he went up to the bar)...bf was "he's in his pajama bottoms?!" I said..."yeah, kind of common these days" but he still found it "unusual."
Like you said...I sometimes think, maybe that poor soul came out of the house and is sick but needed something. Other than that...Get dressed, people!!
If you feel differently...ok.
YES!!

I personally do not believe the litter boxes are used. It irritates me that special accommodations have been made for these students.
I don't support attention seeking behavior. In my world cats do their business outside.

This is such a nice post @Trinity11 .

Some social media users are sharing a photo they claim shows a student who identifies as a cat.
The photos show a young woman wearing costume cat ears. In one of the images, she appears to be crawling on her hands and knees.
"This is a young lady who is exceptional (sic) bright, her family petitioned the school board for right to 'identify as a cat," reads part of a sept 23 facebook post featuring the images. "She is non verbal and she crawls around making cat like noises and the school is perfectly fine with this behavior? I understand WHY my daughter home schooled our grandchildren."
The post garnered more than 1,000 interactions in less than two weeks.
But this post tells a story that simply didn't happen. The photos are from 2016 and show a Norweigan adult who is capable of speaking, not a non-verbal, school-aged child.
USA TODAY reached out to the Facebook user who shared the post for comment.
plus cats should really be inside because they kill songbirds

@Chopsmom We are on the same wavelength! I don't see people in their pajamas who are out shopping. However, I do know someone who works from home and she was talking about staying in pajamas all day. And that is exactly what I thought -- if you wear them all day, they will be dirty!

Just because you see someone wearing their pyjama bottoms in public (male or female) does not mean that they wore them to bed. What's up with that?? And most men don't wear pyjamas to bed either.
@Sage04 If I see someone in pajamas, I'm going to assume they wore them to bed. That's what they're for. I highly doubt someone is wearing their jeans to bed, only to wake up and get dressed in pajamas to go out the door.
I'm sorry but there really is no way to defend the pajamas in public thing.

@Ladybug724 it's ok for you to see it that way. Guess women don't wear nightgowns to bed, and both male and female wear pajamas to bed.
There is nothing wrong with both of us seeing it differently.
I know I've read where people wear pyjamas on the street and I wonder if it's the top and bottom or just the bottom. Maybe I've seen it but never paid attention to what someone is wearing.

Come on. Stop being so PC all the time. Why do we always assume the worst of people?. An argument could be made that the extremely sensitive, overly PC people, watching everyone's every word, looking for a fight are only adding to the problems/hate.We can only summerize here, otherwise posts would be too long. We can't go line by line and explain every little remark that could offend someone. My advice....stop being so sensitive and assume the best until you have more info.
I'm just going to assume the OP meant the people she observed today weren't apparently homeless or unable to afford outdoor clothes.
We're just turning into a bunch of lazy slobs, really. I've seen it too
