I'd worry about the hormones and the fat removal process of skim milk. There are better options...

Lately, I have read that skim milk is high on the glycemic index and whole fat milk is better for us because it has less sugar content. Sometimes, it is so difficult to decipher who to listen to....there is so much information being bandied about and who do we believe.
Are you serious??? Sheesh...might as well stop eating and breathing.

I use stevia to sweeten my coffee...not the grocery store ones either.

Dr. Oz has said skim milk is pretty much sugar and water. Two-percent is better for you.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Just about everything I eat seems to have something wrong with it or someone will find something wrong with it. I have decided to try my best but I tried to give up my half and half in coffee recently and it tasted awful. I found a substitute from Land of Lakes called Low Fat half and half. It has 1gm of sugar for two tbsps and it has no junk in it. It's the best i can do. The fat is less but it still makes the coffee taste good.

They also walk more than we do to get to their destination.
And as far as the poster who said that fat is the cause of high insulin levels, nothing could be further from the truth. Excess carbohydrates and simple sugars are what affect insulin levels. High insulin levels contribute to storage of fat and many experts have written that it may be why we have so much obesity in this country. Americans preoccupation with desserts and sugar in general...
The low fat diet has failed us and the drive to cut out most fats from the diet has made many people to live on a spaghetti and high carbohydrate diet thinking they are doing something health for themselves.
BTW, none of this is really new news. There have been many studies pointing to the fact that carbohydrates and sugar are really the cause of our high rate of coronary artery disease...
Too many chemicals and fillers in processed foods, I don't mind cooking from sratch and avoid instant anything.
I must confess, though, that it is sometimes difficult to do food shopping. I was walking into the supermarket yesterday and on the way in was a prominent display of Mallomars and my favorite brand of potato chips. Last week it was Irish soda bread.
I try and shop the perimeter of the market but I can really understand why people love their junk food.
I do give in sometimes, one of my favorites are oreo cookies, especially when I'm stressed.
Mine are those chocolate ice cream pops with caramel.
I could eat the entire box in one day and there are 3 large bars in the box. Then I get sick from them and swear I won't ever eat them again. Then a few months later I do the same thing. I think what Straykatz posted about food addiction is definitely right...

I'll see if I can find it. I bpught the FF version and it was tasteless.
I did find a Farmland half and half version that is skim milk with none of the additives and it's very good. It's just hard to find.
