I had NG on last night re: the infants being left in cars.
Then , THIS happened - a man came on desperately pleading for his missing son. While on air - NG let him know the boy had been found...alive...in his basement...that had been searched by the police & FBI.
Weird case!

Didn't anyone else see this????
It was bizarre to see the dad's reaction on NG.

I did just see coverage of this. The dad looked shocked and shaken. I don't think they handled it appropriately. They should have taken a commercial break and let the FBI or whomever notify the dad, not allow NG to surprise him on camera like that. They said everyone searched that basement, the FBI, the police, his wife, they had cadaver dogs down there. Maybe the boy wandered off and then snuck back into the basement? Thankfully he is home safe and sound, but it would seem the father is innocent and was just truly pleading for his son's safe return. Definitely a weird case. Hopefully the boy can explain what happened.

I think the stepmom has something to do with it. She refused a polygraph and was not around when he was discovered....the boy says his stepmom gave him food while he was hiding and concealed him....now CNN reports the boy said his father beat him with a lead pipe if he didn't follow some strict regimen...he was homeschooled also. Lots more to this case than meets the eye but am so happy he was found relatively safe. The report there is a ""secret tunnel"" under the house. Curious-er and curious-er......

What is wrong with this world? All these stories of parents abusing their kids and worse. It's like people are going nuts. Children being beaten, in tunnels, left in cars, kidnapped and held hostage for years. What is wrong with people? It's just so sick and twisted.

I saw it unfold before my very eyes and was stunned - not only at the manner with which they made this announcement, but at the father's reaction. I can't decide if he was putting on for TV or was genuinely shocked to hear the news. NG reveled in it. How unprofessional.

maybe NG did it just to see the fathers reaction...not give him time to come up with an alibi..
I didn't see the program....just read it on my MSN page....
I find it hard to believe the father was unaware the boy was in his basement...

I thought he reacted like a father who could not believe what he was hearing. I thought he was afraid he heard "they found your son....and he's NOT alive."
How unprofessional for NG to give this poor man the news that his son was alive. It was as if she was trying to get a "gotcha moment."

I agree but NG only cares about ratings, not justice.
