Weird Sight at my Bank

[ Edited ]

My husband had to go inside the main bank to complete a transaction. I waited in the car. I saw a woman walking toward the entrance with a duffle bag type piece of luggage on wheels. It looked so odd to see someone entering with that. It was clearly empty and light enough to be carried.

After a while, she came outside rolling the bag which was bulging. It was stuffed. What in the world was in that bag? Ransom money, cash for real estate, dirty laundry, or things from her desk. I will never know. I have officially watched way too many episodes of Law & Order.

If it were money or valuables, she would have had a security guard accompanying.

Maybe it was her Mary Kay collection, to cash in on her pink cadillac.....

Re: Weird Sight at my Bank

My daughter-in-law told this story a few years ago:

She and my son were long-time customers of a major bank until their acount  got hacked, or her identity had been stolen for the second time---can't recall that detail.

She closed the account and was led into a private room in the back of the bank and given every dollar in their account--in cash.

She went down the road to another major bank, carting this heavy load of bills.  She wasn't given a  certified bank check for some reason.

This made by laugh.........that's what drug dealers and money-launderers do all the time.

She thought it was pretty funny, too.

@KingstonsMom Not necessarily. Best way to call attention to the fact that you have money or valuables is to have a guard with you! Makes you an instant target. Many years ago I took some rainy day cash out of a safe deposit box.

The manager offered to walk me the 15 steps out the door to my car. I told him "no thanks" for the same reason.

C'mon, do you not recognize a joke when you see one?

Hey, when you're waiting in the car the mind wanders, I would have wondered too. 😹
