While I think using a product you invest in is a good thing...it doesn't necessarily mean you use it if you invest. If WW is able to bring their stock back up then she could really cash in on her investment.

Well, I suppose there are worse places to invest that kind of money. If stock goes back up quickly, she'll make a lot more money & then probably sell out. If she winds up losing money, she'll have the tax write-offs.

@Perkup wrote:The only time I recall Oprah talking abou losing weight on her show was when she made it clear she had a personal chef who prepared all her meals. She even had the chef on one of her shows, and talked about the diet she was on - I don't recall anything more about it, but she did lose weight on the plan she was on. I guess we all could if we had a personal chef there for us.
I don't think Oprah's input would encourage me to try WW again if I needed a plan. Actually I don't like any "celebrity" hawking a weight plan. We all know they have access to the best of whatever - things most of us will never have a chance to experience.
I wish both Oprah and WW the very best. I think WW is a wonderful program and teaches folks great eating habits and portion control.
Oprah has spoken often as Perkup has noted about her personal chef. Even with this advantage she has struggled with her weight.
Again, I wish them both the best of luck as I like and admire both but I just don't have the warm fuzzies with this one but then again it could be incredibly successful. I think this all depends on Oprah.

NBC Nightly News reported Oprah has been "on" WW for a few months.

I have recently had a lot of success with weight loss as a WW member.
The latest aspect is a more holistic approach to weight loss, not just
how much have you lost? etc.
I believe Oprah will adhance this approach. Learning how to eat, not diet.
Addressing emotions and why you're overeating...all of this, in my opinion
helps people get control of their lives.
I have lost weight over the years and gained it back. With WW, you learn
how to live differently and approach food in a different way.

Thank you for this. If this new approach will help both Oprah and WW, that's great news for both of them!

I thought she looked thinner on Stephen Colbert a week ago but didn't listen to the interview.
Good for her. I hope she's successful.

Well, there ya go; O made $60M today on this. Sure wish I'd had a clue last week. I would have pulled a few thou out of 401k & invested in WW. Story of my life-a day late & a dollar short. :-)
