If everyone thought alike, no one would have to do much thinking.
Lord, bless me with the strength of my convictions and the ability
to disagree when necessary without being disagreeable.
Scripture for the day:
"Through Christ you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the
dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God." ~1
Peter 1:21
Meditation for the day:
God's miracle-working power is as manifest today as it was in the past.
It still works miracles of change in lives and miracles of healing in
troubled minds. When a person trusts wholly in God and leaves to God
the choosing of the day and hour, there is God's miracle-working power
becoming manifest in that person's life. We can trust in God and have
boundless faith in God's power to make us whole again.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may feel sure that there is nothing that God cannot
accomplish in changing my life. I pray that I may have faith in God's
miracle-working power.
Hello my friends! Another nice day and another day of harvesting. Made
another good soup with the carcass of the rotisserie chicken, had that for
supper, and I froze the rest. Picked raspberries, lettuce, kale, and he
picked tomatoes, beans and cucumbers. Tomorrow I will cut up the beans and
maybe freeze them, or just cook them for our supper. Tomorrow morning at
10 Linus has an interview for selling cars - he thinks he'd like that, and
they always have Sunday's off. He's even thinking of full time - it's 30
min. away from here. Please pray that God's Will be done! It was a great
blessing after Mass this morning to see our friends, Ray and Ann, and I
invited them for breakfast and they could come, so we had a great visit. I
quickly made some scrambled eggs with some onion, kale, and banana pepper in
it, and some kritswurst that Linus and his brothers made - they loved it!
What a blessing they are in our lives. Praying for all of your needs and
thanks for your prayers for me.
The poor are great people
Bl. Mother Teresa
The poor do not need our sympathy and our pity. The poor need our love and
compassion. They give us much more than we give them.
During a terrible time when millions of refugees fled to India, we asked for
help and many volunteers came and spent some months with us, just loving,
serving, giving tender love and care to our people. On their departure, they
said they had received much more than they had given.
In Calcutta, some time ago, we went out at night and picked up four or five
people from the street and took them to our Home for the Dying. One of them
was in a very bad condition and I wanted to take care of her myself. I did
for her all that my love could do. When I put her into bed, she took hold of
my hand and there was such a wonderful smile on her face. She said one word:
"Thank you" and she died.
She gave me much more than I had given her. She gave me her grateful heart
and I thought: what would I have done in her place? My answer was: I would
have tried to draw some attention to myself, I would have said: I am hungry
or I am cold or I am dying. But she, she was so great, she was so beautiful
in her giving.
Abundant Pardon
When Adam abandoned God, we did too. Is this fair? In athletics, when one
player on a team commits an infraction, there is a penalty. The whole team
suffers. Humanity is a team. When our forefather, Adam, did not play by
the rules. The whole team suffered. We all lost.
We show our membership on the losing team in many ways. We promise fidelity
in marriage and think nothing of cheating. We lie to the boss to cover
mistakes. We pilfer pens, pencils, stamps, stationary, whatever, from the
office. We are petty thieves and robbers. We tell "white" lies, only the
"good" kind.
We need to return to the Lord. There is good reason to do so. Although we
tend to be unforgiving and often vengeful, God is not like us. The way of
God is the way of pardon and forgiveness. A teenage boy who pulls the
trigger and kills his teacher suffers the penalty due for his crime.
However, there is forgiveness in God. "Let the wicked forsake his way and
the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He
will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon"
(Isaiah 55:7).
Jesus Christ died on a cross as a sacrifice for human sin. There is
abundant pardon from God based on this sacrifice.

ANGEL TALK
Author Unknown
Just inside the Pearly Gates
Underneath a gorgeous sky
Two angels hovered near a cloud
(They don't sit like you and I!)
"I just don't understand it,"
Said angel number one,
"I've watched and studied everything
Those foolish souls have done."
The second angel gave a shrug,
"Why do you even care?
It's no concern of ours at all
What they choose to do down there."
"Maybe not," the first one said,
"But still I'd like to know
With all the blessings they've received
What makes them quarrel so?"
The second angel stretched his wings
Then smoothed a ruffled feather,
"It's just about a hopeless cause
For men to live together."
"The Master's working very hard
Has been for generations. ....
And still they fight among themselves
causing death and devastation. "
The older angel softly sighed,
"You can't change things, little one,
The Master's tried everything
He even sacrificed His Son!!"
The young angel nodded slowly,
"That's what seems so bad!
He suffered, bled and died for them!
He gave them all he had!"
"Oh, He still has more to give,"
The other looked both sad and wise,
"For I've seen Jesus when souls are lost,
And I've held Him while He cries."
"For to Him each one is precious
With a value beyond measure.....
He wants them all up here with Him
To share in Heaven's treasure."
"And sometimes, someone down on Earth
Will kneel in fervent prayer
Crying out, 'Please help me, God!
Show me that You're there!'"
"And when that happens you will hear
All the bells of Heaven ring!
As the Master's love pours down like rain
And the Heart of Jesus sings!"
Prayer for Spouses
Lord Jesus,
Grant that my spouse and I may have a true and understanding love for each
other.
Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.
Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.
May we always bear with one another’s weaknesses
and grow from each other’s strengths.
Help us to forgive one another’s failings
and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness,
and the spirit of placing the well being of one another ahead of one’s self.
May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing
year.
Bring us both ever closer to you through our love for each other.
Let our love grow to perfection.
Amen

Tell Me about your plans
What goals have you set? What goals would you like to set? What would you
like to do with your time? Tell Me about your job, your hobbies, your
leisure activities, your visits with family and friends. How would you like
Me to help you? I died for you; certainly I will help you in all other ways,
too.
With what special graces do you want Me to favor you? About which situations
would you like Me to give you insights? Which gifts of My Spirit do you need
to live a more successful Christian life? Ask Me for these, because I long
to share them with you—and to share them abundantly.
Tell Me which problems you want Me to help you resolve, which ones you want
Me to help you get through as you wait for the resolution. Ask Me to help
you increase your trust in our Father’s plans for these problems. He loves
you, I love you, My Holy Spirit loves you, and we, as One, desire what’s
best for you.
Your tears have touched Me. Tell Me what makes you cry. Lean into My
shoulder and let your tears flow. I will absorb your pain, and your tears
will become as drops in the ocean. Tell Me how much you need Me to relieve
your pain. I already bore your pain on My cross; let Me heal you now.
