Pray even when your heart has no words rather than to pray words
with no heart. Lord, You faithfully answer all prayers. I will trust in
Your answers and never take Your love for granted.

Scripture for the day:

"I believe; help my unbelief!" ~Mark 9:24

Meditation for the day:

"I believe; help my unbelief!" This cry of the human heart is an
expression of human frailty. It signifies the soul's sincere desire
for progress. As we feel the existence of God and God's power, we can
believe in God more and more. At the same time, we can be more
conscious of our falling short of absolute trust in God. The soul's
progress is an increasing belief, then a cry for more faith, a plea to
conquer all unbelief, all lack of trust. We can believe that this cry
is heard by God and that this prayer is answered in due time. And so
our faith can grow, little by little, day by day.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that with more power in my life will come more faith. I pray
that I may come to trust God more each day.

Greetings my friends! Hope you all like the thread better now - shorter and
I put more inspirations in during the day. This makes it easier, and if
it's alright with you all, I'll continue this way - or - how many like the
old way better? I am here to please, I hope you know that by now. Again
the purpose of this thread is to post our blessings, our wonderful, God
given blessings that we receive each day, but don't notice them, so here is
the place to acknowledge them, we all have them, God loves us all, all over
the world. Can you name at least three? For mine - I was blessed today in a
surprise chat on Facebook from an old friend I met on my list when it
started over 12 years ago, I told her I'll call her tonight - free after
seven, so that I'm really looking forward to. She told me of a healing she
received - she was kneeling and praying the Stations of the Cross, and it's
always very hard for her to get up then, but this time she felt she heard
the word "rise" and when she did, no more pain and she's walking much, much
better now too. Praise the Lord for Miracles still are happening all
around! So it was a blessing for me to chat with her, and also to hear
about her healing! Another blessing - nice visit with our neighbor, I
offered them to take some of our lettuce as our fridge has enough for now,
another blessing - well, saying goodbye to Father Matt again, was blessed by
a good hug this morning after Mass. Oh yes! Mass is the first blessing!
I'll just add another blessing here and that is God bringing us all together
to love and praise Him and give Him all the Glory which He deserves. What
an AWESOME God we have!!! Also this thread is meant to be here for you when
you are hurting, and when you need prayers, we are very willing to pray for
one another. About once a year, I mention this in the thread because of new
people coming etc. I'm praying for all your wants and needs, my friends,
and ask that you pray for Tiny 2 who has health problems and I know you
will.

Five Ploys of Satan

Doubt - Tempts us to question God's Word and his goodness, forgiveness, and
love

Discouragement - Tempts us to focus intently on our problems rather than
entrusting them to God's care

Diversion - Tempts us to see the wrong things as attractive so that we will
want them more than the right things

Defeat - Tempts us to feel like failure so that we don't even try

Delay - Tempts us to procrastinate so that things never get done

Reflect on these ploys of Satan, and if you find that he has darkened your
life on any of these counts, lift up the situation to Our Lady in prayer.

Being Truly Loving

Being truly loving means doing all those thankless tasks we do for others
without complaining about the fact that they are thankless.…
When we seek recognition for our actions,
our action is no longer purely about loving the other person,
but about the person knowing what we have done.

from Saints Off the Pedestal: Real Saints for Real People

and our closing prayer for tonight:

Prayer When You Need Patience

Forgive me, Dear God,
If today I have been impatient, especially with people.
If today I have made anyone feel a nuisance.
If today I did not show understanding for others mistakes.
If today there were times when I was too head strong, too sure I was right.
If today I have ridden rough shod over the feelings of someone else.
If today I have been unapproachable to talk to,
difficult to work with,
critical of others,
harsh and quick in my judgement.

I cannot undo what I have done,
but help me tomorrow to be more loving and kind,
as you are to me. Amen.
